My Lie Poem

I’ve been to a place that only few claim they’ve seen.

I walk the halls at night listening to the whispers coming from the walls;

I’ve observed sorcery and mystery beyond what you can see,

and I’ve touched new textures that I would have never thought to touch.

The many feelings I get from even just a glimpse at this place’s beauty.

I get chills down my spine that make me smile because I know it’s a good feeling.

But, I always lie.

I’ve made eye contact with beautiful people.

We’ve gone places together that only a one could dream of going to,

and we’ve touched lips under the moonlight of this enchanted place.

I’ve watched them in class while I try to remember what I’m doing,

but they distract me, and I know I distract them back.

Don’t forget, I am a liar.

I’ve done incredible things beyond any source of science,

but that’s just the thing, it’s not science.

I can light a place up in the flick of my wrist,

or set them on fire with a touch of a tip.

I could become invisible by throwing something over my head,

or sore in the clouds barely hanging on to what’s holding me up.

Though I lie to all, all the time.

I’ve smelt the crackling fire at midnight under the glimmering stars,

where I’ve listened to the soft giggles of the younger students.

We’ve ran around the castle chasing and tackling each other,

until we can even get up anymore.

The laughter is filled in the air and everything is as joyful as it could ever be

I’m such a liar.

I’ve almost slept in a pile of white fluffiness.

The snow there is a white blanket,

that I drown in while walking through the village.

I head down to get a nice cold butterbeer with the ones I love,

as we sit down together,

and watch the snow fall from out the window.

I say this because I’m a lier.

I’ve seen the most dangerous things happen right before my eyes.

With the blink of them, everything I’ve seen could be gone,

and it almost was.

It was as dark as the swelling waves of the ocean before the rising winds,

when it bends the head near the coast.

I am a liar.

I’ve experienced death before my eyes.

Tears fill them up as quick as a lighting bolt can knock down a tree.

I watch as the ones I love the most fall horribly to the ground,

Only with a blink of my eyes.

I’ve fought against the darkest of dark,

the one who can’t can’t even look into the eyes of.

I truly lie all the time.

The author's comments:

My poem is about a magical place that I've always dreamed of going to, but I'm unsure if I will ever be able to, and many belive I won't, or that it's not possible. But, I belive that thisplace is where I belong and I will make it there someday. I wrote my poem about everything I've ever imagined if I ever went there, and it talks about the ups and downs.
