Roses
As the sweet love
Fell through my fingertips
I go deeper and deeper
Into the maze of distress
I walk for days and days
Lost, looking
I see it and reach to grab it
But instead I’m met with
A thorny rose.
I prick my finger
On the gorgeous flower
And the red of the flower
And blood clash,
I fall to my knee
And have no one to blame but myself
For the hurt
I’ve experienced.
The solution to my problem
Is to put these feelings into a box
And shove it in a closet
Never to see the sun.
