Permanent
She’s what everyone wanted to be grade k-5. She had pretty brown hair coupled with sea-green eyes and a smile that could make you look her way. See this girl is perfect. Perfect grades, perfect attitude, perfect smile, perfect at any sport, perfect, perfect, perfect. But everyday she got one less day, and a new mark to stay. She wasn’t what anybody thought or said, because every night in bed, she’d lie awake. She would always cry the size of a lake. It actually started at 10 when everyone started to call her #1 at everything. She used to laugh at the thought of a distraction, not realizing that's how she kept traction. The ‘choose life’ signs at the church she now would wear jeans and a hoodie to made her scoff, while later that night she’d cough. The only thing permanent though was the marks, just the noticeable marks on her sleeve though weren’t the only ones. The ones in her head and heart ingrained there and ignored from being taught that she’s replaceable and in fact not permanent.
