Poem
To most people this is just a piece of paper,
This is a used ticket by the looks
A little beat up and dusty with a few folded corners
Now it hangs on the wall, collecting dust.
I remember when I went to this place
Waking up early each day
Getting home late each night
This weekend was awesome.
The smell of race fuel and burning rubber
The sound of cars speeding into each turn
The vibration as they rubbled past the grandstands
Throwback weekend at Darlington was epic
Now this simple piece of paper, that hangs on my wall
Is a reminder of an awesome weekend
That most wouldn't quite understand.
