I long for that feeling.

When you hold hands through summer nights.

When glowing fireflies swim around you.

When sleeping alone ends

And in its place is a person

I want the feeling of love

Real and unconditional

I want it to feel as if the world is just us two

The feeling of summer at night

The many things that come out after dark

Could we sit next to each other?

Among the glow of the fireflies

I want that feeling.

The pure feeling of ‘I love you.'

Feeling my heart flutter in my chest

If I could have that, maybe then

Maybe then just for once

I could feel whole.

And do you think we’d be in love forever?
To stay stuck like this in the summer nights?

I think we could stay.

Just for once, I think we could stay.

While writing this I thought to my backyard. Every year around summer my backyard is full of fireflies. It always looks very romantic and I've always wanted to hold someone's hand and watch them fly around in the dark.
