Goodnight, My Sun
Goodnight, My Sun
Peyton Brown
I’m his sun
In his lonely atmosphere
He longs for me
As he drifts away
Asleep
Asleep
Forever in his dreams
And his dreams
Become his delusions
Circles under his blue eyes
Haunting the sky
Circling to when I’m here
If I would
If I would leave
Hold me this tonight
I won’t
I’m floating away
Away
Away
I’m dissociating in reality
I’m the winner in his nightmares
The loser in his fantasies
Irony no longer with me
I’m right here
I’m not here
We will together
We are together
We die together
We never
Never understood
I know
I care
I love
I fall

Hi! My name is Peyton Brown and I'm a senior in high school. I was inspired to make this poem about being a person rejecting someone who can't take no for answer. I used the analogy of the sun and the moon to reflect this. I want to, however, make this piece more introspective and personal to the reader. I have my own opinion on the subject of my piece, but you can too.
