Aunt Betty
Drop.
Drop.
Drop.
Plastic bags dangling,
Clearish Liquid dripping droplets.
6 to 8 extensive months in that h*ll.
180 pound body turned into,
A 120 pound body shaped into that bed.
Tears, anger, and depression.
Wishing we could help,
Nothing we can do.
No hair left.
Discoloration in skin tone.
Losing nails just as fast as hair.
Not being able to walk nor stand up,
Having to be carried to the bathroom.
We observed it all happen,
Stage 1 to 4.
One place to another,
All organs and bones covered.
Cancer grows like weeds,
spreading like a wild disease.
Organs covered in NHL as if it were fire.
Knowing how cancer works,
Survival rate was 5% at that point.
She kept smiling as if she wasn't dying.
Family coming in and out of that sickening room.
As tears stream down, the cancer is laughing in our faces.
Rest in peace to a caring, loving, and kind hearted woman.
Rest in peace to an angel.
In loving memory, Elizabeth Wells.
