Nothing At All
The screaming and the talking.
The laughing and the crying.
The good days and the bad days.
Life is joyous and peaceful for some,
But for others it is like a rollercoaster;
There are highs, and there are lows.
With the bright light turned on in the kitchen I could hear you laughing with glee
Which quickly turned into a yelling match between you, then there’s me
Sitting in my room feeling all alone
Then I rush over and pick up the phone
I call my grams to tell her what’s wrong
She calms me down, then starts singing a song
It was a joyful song, one I never heard before
Then hastily, a knock I heard at my door
The phone jumped out of my hand as the door flew open and crashed into the wall
But as I peered over, there was nothing there, nothing at all
Had this all been a dream I wondered in my head
As I was woken up and carried gracefully to my bed.
