Self Love
Never shall I forget that day,
Seeing all of those skinny, beautiful girls,
Wondering “why can’t I look like that?”,
Thinking about it all
Never shall I forget that day,
Deciding “maybe I won’t eat today”,
Sitting hunched over hungry,
All trying to lose some simple weight
Never shall I forget that day,
When he told me he thought I was pretty,
I sat with a smile on my face,
But still could not believe him
Never shall I forget that day,
Tasting the tears that ran down my face,
As I sat in the mirror comparing myself to others,
Once again asking myself why I do not look like them
But, never shall I forget that day,
When I realized I am perfect the way I am,
Realizing that everyone is different
Never
