I remember…

Waking up to a nice lady injecting IV fluids in my arm and all I could think about was how badly I wanted my talking bunny and blankie.

Blankie: I could not go to the first day of Kindergarten without out, but soon Grace, a girl with such a similar name became my new best friend.

Best friend: My sister is my best friend, my role model, my inspiration, and I wish I could forget the time I told her that she was the prettiest girl except for her nose.

Nose: It was probably in the woman’s personal space bubble, as I  subtly leaned over her shoulder, reading the entire story about neurosurgery on her Kindle without her knowledge.

Knowledge: My first real boyfriend’s dad was the most intelligent person I had ever met, and he always reminded me that the harder I worked, regardless of smarts, the higher I would be carried.

Carried: I will always cherish the sensation and feeling I got when my boyfriend Haydn held me close standing on top of the slide, or the time he carried me on his back all the way across two miles of the sand dunes of Sleeping Bear.

Bear: Though most would consider her any other dog, Reagan is like a human to me, the one who never fails to make me smile as she players her silly little games and thumps her tail on the big bear resting my bed as I try to finish my nightly homework.

Homework: The workload for AP Chemistry class often pushes me past my limits, the people are forever so frustrating, and somehow I still love what I learn.

Learn: Some of my newest friends have shared some of the most amazing experiences with me, one being teaching me which ingredients to slap down between two pieces of French Peasant bread as I prepared thousands of sandwiches in the Crescent Bakery of Michigan.

Michigan: I don’t often feel proud, or maybe I just fail to take note of the feeling I get when I accomplish something remarkable, but when I was awarded the Youth Citizenship Award among hundreds of other Michigan youth, I couldn’t help but beam.

Beam: I currently stand looking up at the sky watching the flocks of birds soaring over me, rays of sunshine beaming down on me as if to say “we will guide you through life.”

Life: I hope that one day someone describes me as someone they remember in the poem of their life.
