Senseless
I’m pulled from the cold, dark,
Unforgiving water.
I’m unconscious and
I’m not breathing.
I see my friends crowding around me.
They are panicking and screaming my name.
I see one argue with an EMT,
Begging to ride along.
Then I’m loaded into an ambulance.
he follows.
Inside the ambulance,
I watch as my weak, almost nonexistent heartbeat
Stops.
The EMTs waste no time.
I watch as they send electricity into my body.
Once, Twice,
Three times.
Then,
I’m Back again.
