mirror
The distorted truth of self judgement that conquerors the capacity of my mirror awaits for my response.
The days became repetitive and the mornings dreadful
As I was self trained to ignore the glass mirror hanging on my bedroom wall.
The mindset of a teenage girl who held a world of people to compare herself too.
But there is a power within the reflection
A moment to see how far we have come.
Our very own moment in which deserves more credit than given
The mountains we have crossed and the internal wars we have battled
So when you look in the reflection view its power
And imagine how proud that reflection will be staring back at you.

This piece is my own personal take on self reflection as a whole. Often adults will overlook the daily hardships we as teenagers overcome and with this, self doubt becomes apparent in our young minds. Once we grow a personal image of our selves, it is something to be proud of. give yourself credit for how far you have come.
