The American Dream,

But is it something that everyone can redeem.

America, the land of the free,

But that's not how it seems.

A place that’s supposed to be full of love,

Is actually filled with lies from above.

Momma crying from the loss of a son,

Father, shocked and stunned.

Immigrant mother from Trinidad,

Can’t get custody of her daughter and is so sad.

15 year old girl taught to be pretty,

People look at her with pity.

Liberty and justice for all,

Is miss guided in the eye of the law.

The system is suppose to be raw,

But it is completely flawed.

Land of opportunities

With low income communities.

Race against race.

Happiness is not always the case.

Sons joining gangs,

Including filthy plans.

Corrupt government

With high amounts of judgement

Big lights and stars

And too many people behind bars.

America is supposed to be an escape from conflicts around the world,

Beautiful and pearled.

However, I’m scared to be involved in this cruel world.

I feel trapped like a bird

And I’m really concerned.

I love America,

But I also hate America.

I don’t want to be afraid to die

And I just want to survive.

America can be deceiving to the eye,

But if you look closely, it’s all in the mind.

Someone save this crooked world

Before it is burned.

The American Dream,

More like the American Scheme.
