The Void
My heart aches for you my love
Everywhere I look I feel the void
You're gone
And no matter what I do
I still feel the pain in my chest
All consuming
Like a whirlwind collecting the autumn leaves
The void spins all around
Picking up all the things that made me happy, and turning them dark
Devouring them
I keep my eyes closed
Because I don't want to see the world if you're not in it
Even the brightest of flowers have lost their beauty, their color
I feel guilty when I have stopped crying
For it means I have slowed my breathing
Without your help
But no matter what,
I am sad without you
And my smile will never be the same
Because nothing else will ever compare to you
And the warmth in your embrace
The music in your laughter
The world that lived in your big, brown eyes

I wrote this a few days after my first relationship ended. I find that writing is very helpful and therapeutic, so this is what came from one of my moments of reflection.
