The Resurrection
Silent in his suffering, his hands tied to posts,
The Holy Spirit swims before him along with many other ghosts.
The Messiah being punished, for making others well,
God has made sure that the villains go to hell.
His body displayed, splayed out on the cross,
since the beginning of the night, till the cold morning frost.
His corpse is taken far away, to a tomb with a huge rock.
It will be his door, though the sunlight it will block.
He has helped out his own race, yet paid a heavy price.
His life confiscated just for being nice.
Betrayed by a brother, Judas is their name,
yet even after Jesus found out, he did not think of blame.
Women come to his tomb, to pray, to weep and mourn,
though both Marys are obviously the most forlorn.
But to their dismay, the body they do not find,
they begin to screech and wail, till a voice comes from behind.
It is their saviour, the Son of God, Messiah, Jesus!
He raises up his hands, which are no longer in pieces.
The women rush to tell the others, their hero they did find!
But the disciples, disbelieving of this fact are surely blind.
Till the man in question comes walking through the door,
and all the disciples raise their hand in praise and fall to the floor.
But he tells them of a sorrow, that they cannot keep him long,
and as he says, true to his word, after forty days he is gone.
