Painted cardboard halls

Endlessly crammed with chaos

Laced hands and I love you

Girls who forever feel small

With guys that will remain apathetic

Anxiety rapidly increases

Self esteem diminishes completely

Four years of alterations

You feel giant now

But at what cost

You threw away everything

To please a council of your peers

Instead of yourself

I hope you know who you are

The author's comments:

I wrote this about how I belive high school makes people feel. You believe that you have to look a cetain way or act a certain way and that is not the case. High school should be fun. It is the last four years you get before you are thrusted into Adulthood. Most people don't have a nice time in high school  and I think everyone should.
