why me?
Why me?
You always say to be me
But you make me wash away the makeup that's too thick or too dark
You make me cover up when my skin shows
You ask me to be silent when I’m too loud
But when I’m silent I have an attitude
You pick on me but not her.
Why me?
I ask myself the same question over and over hoping for a response
I get nothing.
You bring me down and down
Like a scuba diver going into the depths of the unknown sea
I’m begging you, please
Stop you’re hurting me
You leave red marks, bruises, and welts on me
But you’re always the victim
You blame me for all of it
But it's you
It's always been you
You caused this but I’m to blame
You caused the flames
But they are getting dimmer and dimmer
Then they vanish
It's like lit candles on a birthday cake
Blown out with one simple breath
You hate me or is it you’re jealous I didn’t choose you as a toddler
The anxiety inside me is what you have caused
When I talk I’m always paused because you don’t want to hear what I have to say
I thank you for the pain
But I hate you for the emotional ride you put me on
Why me?
I say but you push me away
when I ask
I’m always doing your task
I will forever ask why me.
