February 3rd
Beautiful blue eyes
Gaze unknowingly back at me
The first time I had seen them
Blue as the surface of a frozen lake
A toothless smile upon your face.
Brought to life by those around you.
The first time I had seen you
Unlike any feeling I had felt before.
13 years younger,
But felt as close as twins.
As small as a soccer ball
But someday you’ll be bigger than the world.
Over the past four years
I’ve watched you grow
Into a little woman
A princess
A police officer
A vampire
A werewolf
A zombie
A pirate.
But above all,
My best friend.
I love you,
Adelyn Noelle.

This was written about my little sister, who just turned four. It's been wonderful watching her grow and turn into a little girl. The title 'February 3rd' is her birthday.
