The Months.
March.
School was let out,
students became checked out.
Sports got shut down,
athletes’ faces wore a frown.
The governor spoke each day
and all we could do was pray.
April.
COVID cases began to rise,
the country was seeing all kinds of highs.
PPE became meager
and hospitals were eager.
May.
Summer sports got pushed back until June 1st,
people started to prepare for the worst.
The traditional graduation ceremony was
not so traditional because
of the limits on number of people allowed at a gathering.
June.
Baseball and softball resumed
with several guidelines that people assumed.
July.
The typical Fourth of July events
did not commence.
Wearing a mask
was now a huge task.
August.
In person school began,
some students were not a fan.
Masks all day long
really made the day drag along.
But at least we were in the classroom,
and not on zoom.
