“2020”
If I could look back and change everything
I would.
Fails have surpassed the wins
Lives have been lost
Times have been changed
Not for better
But for worse
As America drives the hearse
Dark and gloomy, full of never ending darkness
This virus has affected us the most.
The silent assassin working in mysterious ways
Infecting most, that have been left astray
Isolation and commitment
To what is a battle
To find a cure, which was once not worth while
As I write this poem
Line by line
I realize that I am not able to find
A true solution to this assassin
Will it ever end truly?
The world may never know
But it is best to stay clean
Because we are in the middle of
COVID-19

I chose to write this poem because of the world we are living in currently. Things are beginning to change, but we are still in the midst of a pandemic.
