Listen
This
is how I die.
I walk through the halls,
Waves of unfamiliar faces
Crashing against me,
Their conversations
Flooding my mind.
I'm drowning
in this sea of voices.
But I put in my earbuds and tap play on my phone.
The flood recedes from my mind,
The waves are silenced.
I'm lifted from this overwhelming blue.
And I'm not drowning anymore,
For I have drowned everything else.
