Friends come and go,

But family always stays.

Family stays even on your lowest days

And to do it, they find ways.

Protect you is what they desire

From the individual trying to do harm.

Your understanding is what they require

So, don’t be alarmed.

Sacrifices would occur

In order for you to live your best life.

Don’t stab their hearts with your own knife

Because other family is what you prefer.

Love and value what you have,

Your family might be someone else’s wish.

You were given a lot of opportunities served to you on a dish,

So grateful you should be.

I am grateful for my family and I wanted to express that to them by writing this poem.
