stranger dream MAG
i dreamt about you last night.
you walked through my room
like you’d been there a thousand times
only a fraction of how much i’d actually
wanted you there.
we’d gone out
to a diner my papa owns
even though he doesn’t own one.
your smile bore into me across the booth
and it made my stomach flutter
in this dream,
i know you the way a branch knows
the wind
the way roots know the soil.
outside it, i know your name
your face
and not much else.
