A Poem for Right
When can we find a nation that's not possessed by the dour nature of the hour but find the power to fight with light and might and a knowledge of what is intrinsically right. A twisted sense we’re imbued with the thought that a nation renewed will not be fought for. Maybe if we forgot more, forgave more, maybe if we thought before we say more, be a part of today more, praised more, and razed less. If we found a chance to be at our best, and to test old ideas and lest we hold a vice grip on old fears, lest we have cause to shed tears, lest we close our hearts, our minds, and our ears, lest we rear up, put our mental shields up, but instead look deep into yourself and feel enough.

I was inspired by The Hill we Climb by Amanda Gorman, and so I wrote this.
