The Beast; Anxiety
Thinking is muffled
What was once roaring from the deepist pits of the darkest moments
Have they been set free?
Or rather temporarily silenced
Cautiously anticipating their awakening
Being without this internal banter leaves a sort of numbness
Am I to yearn for the empty coldness?
But to feel something
Anything
Even if that something takes the form of a vicious beast

This poem centers around the idea of medication, and how it numbs anxiety rather than getting rid of it. I also talk about my struggle of actually wanting medication, and trying to figure out if dealing with anxiety is better than the absence of every emotion in my body.
