Embrace
I miss you
Your warmth when you engulf me in an embrace,
Tightening your hold around my waist
While I softly rocked our bodies
It felt peaceful
You made me calm
Since you can't embrace me any longer
None other hugs comfort me as you did
So I hug you in my mind
Terrible as I am, I discover my tranquility
Since you were my tranquility
And, you shall forever be.

I am an empathetic person, and I had grown very attached to a stray dog. She was born 2 months earlier and she passed away last day. It is quite difficult because she used to light up the whole house with her antics and now that she isn't here anymore, it just feels blank. This piece is a dedication to her.
