Writing A Poem
I wanted to write a poem, but don’t know
Where to get started.
With the pen in my hand and the blank paper in my face,
Not knowing what to write about.
Should it be about love or nature,
With the plants and trees?
Maybe a mystery?
Or a free verse poem about
The stars and moons?
It could be about the countries and of places
Where it seems so strange,
Or maybe the sadness of feeling left out and broken hearted.
With all these ideas, I’m still stuck
With nothing to write about.

I am a 7th grade student from South Carolina. When I’m not in school, I enjoy doing art and writing poems. I enjoy writing poems because it’s very calming and relaxing. I also like to listen to Billie Eilish, I LOVE graphic novels, and I also like dancing. My main goal for my deeper poems like “Writing a Poem” is to make them feel they can do anything.
