Swept Away
The flood was rising,
Inching around my waist.
I was about to swim away, forget everything,
And save myself,
But then I hear your voice
Trying to warn others of the incoming threat.
I looked over in your direction
As your sea-green eyes connect with my own,
The pain of our break up slipping away
As we simultaneously move towards each other,
Needing the comfort of familiarity.
I take a step
But the strong current hits me
Knocking me down,
Sweeping me away.
But my heart was still moving towards you.

Just a little poem I wrote that seems like it will have a happy ending.
