Sol and Luna’s Game of Hide and Seek
The sun determines everything for us
When we sleep, where we go, who we’re with
If we listen.
Sometimes the sun likes to trick us
Giggling, she says she wants to play hide and seek
With whom?
We found a random parking lot
Put on our glasses
3D, like life is its own movie
The birds flew away
They listened to the sun
and the sun was telling them to sleep
A quiet settled over us
a chilling blanket; silence like the
tranquility moments before actors take the stage
The sun taunted us in the sky
merging with her lovely Luna
Their game projecting beautiful darkness
She laughed once more, hidden from us
Oh how she loved to disappear
A perfect black circle of mystery and lust
How come the sun always gets to be in charge?

When I saw the solar eclipse a few years ago, it was breathtaking. I decided to write about my experience with the sun that day.
