Ghost
The night was young
And I swear, I could hear
Your voice in the wind.
It was calling to me,
And I swear, I could hear
The sound of your laughter.
It was calling to me.
In a frantic panic, I searched for
The sound of your laughter
Echoing
in
my
mind.
In a frantic panic, I searched for
Your face in the darkness.
Unsuccessful, I try to hold on to
Your voice in the wind.
I stand restless and tired.
The night was young.

Moving on from someone, whether it be a breakup or a loss, is not easy at all. There will be moments where you feel like you're finally fine until a thought about them pops up and sends you down an endless spiral of emotions. I wrote this poem during a time where I finally felt okay without my ex, but he still haunts my mind from time to time. It is tiring to go through this kind of cycle, but it gives you a lot of strength. Whoever else can relate and is going through something similar, just know that it will get better with time.
