When the rain hits

It leaves all but a mist

On the lips

Of the chrysantheum

Metereorologists tumble at the tips of the tv

Boasting of their accuracy

I lean into the window

Watching as the hole in the driveway fills up

As it transforms into a puddle

Reminds me of Narnia

The sewer at the end of the yard

Devours the rumbling rain

I investigate how swiftly the avalanche was taken away

Crevices in the gravel turned into pools

Overfilling and getting filled

The tree is whipped into the wind

But is also stilled

Spider webs on the tree are smacked down

Destroying a perfectly placed spiral

Anthills are demolished

Bits of its sand funneling out upon the grass

I watch the rain leave like a time lapse

The rampant shower has nothing to show but a puddle

And even that evaporates

Sucked from its stance

The avalanche is now a stream

Spiders wll just reweave

Water will sit on the surface for a time

But will eventully seep through

CAuse no matter how cruel

Destructive or

Unruly rain might be

We'll always be tied to it

And it'll always leave
