Why We Play
The bright sunny and the dark gloomy days.
Both days still allow you to play.
Most don’t understand taking the time to play.
Taking the time to relax.
Taking the time to enjoy yourself.
Getting the feel the wind blow through your body.
Getting to feel stress-free for only a bit.
Being outside can be some peoples getaway
From the madness and the stress.
It can bring peace and delight.
For it made most feel at home.
Outside was an accepting place.
For it can be more kind than most people.
I understand that some may not see
the beauty of being outside.
The beauty of being surrounded by nature.
The joy that being outside brought to others.
The exhilaration of feeling like a child again.
The feeling of only worrying about
what’s right in front of you.
Being able to let all fears and worries go.
Being able to stand tall and to stand proudly.
No matter how old you get you should
always have the opportunity to play.
Let the outside be your getaway.
For you will take away the pain.
Just play one more game.
For old time’s sake.

I wrote this piece to make myself realize it's alright to take a break. Everyone is allowed to have some time for themselves. You shouldn't overwork yourself for the sake of others. Yet, I always seem to forget my own words and always tend to overwork myself. So I wrote this as a reminder for myself, to take a break from time to time.
