the unobserved life
not a day in my life has gone by
and the sun cease to set or fail to rise
and its beauty which present each night
vows not to diminish for all of my life
but sunrises bring days in their light
and these days bring age and i fear that age might
bring a day with the sun setting bright
its beauty unseen to my wonder-less eyes
whether a fault of interest or sight
is cause for my sad failure to recognize
a final closing of eyes for time
or glum indifference are both a loss of life

I wrote this piece to highlight the importance of finding the beauty in the small things, and to show that beauty is always there. It's when you stop looking for it or appreciating it that life becomes bleak.
