You want gold, but I’m just silver.
I shouldn't keep my hopes up, not even a sliver.
If I do, I might just shatter.
You wouldn't really want the latter.
Yes I know you care, just not in the way that matters.
And that I don't fit your criteria.
But ending our friendship is critical.
I don't think I could save my feelings from this crush.

This is just a reflection on a friendship I had with someone, we both liked each other but she wanted to stay friends in case we broke up, she didn't want us to be exes and fade. We faded anyway lol.
