Some Things
Some things are hard to let go of.
Like a toy that holds a memory,
Or a tree you used to climb in the park.
Some things are hard to let go of,
Like a house you grew up in,
Or a moment you never want to end.
Some things are hard to let go of,
Like an ancient friendship that came to an end,
Like a dream where maybe, for once, everything was good.
Some things are hard to let go of,
When a life is taken from someone you care for,
When a person you care for takes their own.
Some things are hard to let go of,
They act like weights tied to chains and drag you down until you are drowning in your sorrow, but too scared to let go of them because at one point, they brought you happiness.
Some things you have to let go of.

This piece is about a close friend of mine. He commited suicide a month ago so this piece means a lot to me. It's about how it feels to loose someone/something important to you. I'm not sure if many people will relate to the true meaning of this, but I hope they can atleast relate to something.
