The Lilac Tree
When I look at the Lilac tree,
I feel nothing.
Everyone else feels the warmth,
the security, and the beauty.
All I see is a tree;
a tree with leaves and branches
Surrounded by an empty world.
I feel nothing.
Nothing feels the same anymore
life goes on and on...
without me.
I feel worthless in itself.
The natural beauty of the earth
shines brightly, but society takes over.
It engulfs the Lilac tree.
It is destroyed, desolate
waiting to be saved, to be salvaged.
But on one’s there, just
emptiness.
And yet, I still feel nothing.

Everyone one is different and feels everything differently. Life is also different for everyone and society has paved the path for what life should look like. The happiest people are often the saddest and depressed. They have masks to hide the reality of their feelings, and I too, have a mask.
