A World That Doubts Equality

Equality.

When will we get the memo?

When most people hear this word, they think politically.

This is not the case.

See we all bleed the same blood,

So why do we treat each other like we don’t.

Equality. Seems so repetitive right?

Nowadays we have become so divided, but why?

Why do we have to fight?

I lay in my bed every night and pray to God to give me a sign.

A sign of peace, hope, love,

But man, equality, will never leave my mind.

What does this word mean, and why will it not leave me alone?

Equality means to be equal. Figures right?

I will say that this is as shallow as it gets.

There are extremely too many battles we are trying our hardest to face as a society,

But how can we globally defeat this, if we cannot respect each other first?

Violence, hate, and crime are not the answer to finding peace, hope, and equality

There is that word again, equality

Maybe that is the sign, I have been praying for all this time.

I want to be equal

I want to love my neighbors no matter their religion, gender, race, or personal beliefs.

But God, I have been doing this all along.

“Equality.”

I finally get it, I finally understand. God has been telling me all this time-

I am Farrah, and I am here to inform you that equality is a concern in our society today.

I want you to look at your neighbor, and say “We will be equal,”

Because truth is powerful, truth is right, truth is God’s will, and truth is equality

The constant fight for equality is never ended, but there is an open door for optimism.
