Last Time
It wasn’t the first time
she discovered a new
shimmery lip gloss in the
dashboard of their car, although the color
caught her off guard.
The magnetic pink overpowering
the tones of every other shade.
Every night, the sunset
that overshadows the dwindling town
takes her back to the one moment.
Except the gloss will run out,
an empty container with no value to him.
Only to be replaced in the following months.
The emptiness bottled into anger,
a storm of hatred to be unleashed in a flash.
A cheating man, with no excuses to give,
left all alone with no sense of dignity.
