Quarantine

It started off as something simple,

Wash your hands, wear a mask

Now you can’t even ask

When it’s going to all be gone.

I can't believe how much I grieve going outside

Now it's being trapped side by side.

So much stress about the person in the White House.

Trump is causing distress, which is making a mess.

And is refusing to get done

Even though Biden has already won

Not seeing people has me insane

And my dad is starting to grow a mane

Everyone is losing their jobs which are sending mobs

Of people into poverty

Masks are mandatory which makes it a real worry

That Trump has people thinking it’s a fairy tale story

Toilet paper is the new gold

Which has out sold anything else

Covid cases have grown by the million

So why are people still in

Groups of twenty, which to me is too many.

Trump has no more than a lump for a head

Suggesting that we drink bleach

When he really believes it's as good as bread

Every morning the wildfires are still roaring

Ash falling like snow, smoke so thick making me choke.

Black Lives Matter is the new major piece

Even though people of color are dying in the hands of police.

I have tried buying anything to keep me denying

The actual state of the country.

It’s helped me forget for a minute

But, we are all together in it.

The wildfires are out, Biden has won,

We can do this, it's almost done.

I decided to write this piece out of the blue. It was a really great idea just to sit down and write out my feelings. I wanted to be able to share a piece with the public and share it with people with similar feelings.
