TO BE A WOMAN
“Yes, injured Woman! Rise, assert thy right! Woman! Too long degraded, scored, oppressed; O born to rule in partial Law’s despite resume thy native empire o’er the breast!”
To be a woman
Is to be property.
To act ladylike
Is to mold into a stereotype.
To speak up is unheard of
Just go crawl behind the white man you see in front of you.
A glimpse of street is all you see before the warmth blood drains every part
Every being you thought to be strong. Now gone.
Pick up the bandages. Bandage that wound.
We are strong. We see in color.
