FREEDOM

My feet pushed down hard in the stirrups

I held onto the reins

I held on not fearfully

But freely

The wind tickled my ears

As it blew through my long hair

The leaves bright

And branches weak

As they brushed upon my body

Sweat dripped down my horses neck

As the warm spring sun glistened upon it

Running as if we were in a movie

Fearing a villain chasing us

Running down hills

And around bends

Through branches

Dust and dirt

Running free

I think to myself

How I wish I could feel that sensation again

My fingernails lined with dirt

A bandana hanging loosely around my neck

My body shifting

Left to

Right

Left to

Right

As it sits in the saddle

My beating heart slowing down

My mind still running wild
