Bury Your Sorrows
Why did I wait so long?
No prayer and no song
Could stop it in the end
No wound would mend
I’m about to drop
Why won’t it all stop
Why did I wait?
What difference did it make?
It just prolonged my pain
Another tear stain
On my clean cream shirt
I’ve been treated like dirt
But they don’t care
Pretending they’re unaware
All this time
Where is the crime
In ending one’s own sorrow?
Why would I want to see tomorrow?
There’s nothing for me here
Why stay another year?
Let me out of this place
I need my space
Can’t you tell?
This feels like hell.
But of course you can’t see it
You never gave a shit
And when I’m gone
You’ll just yawn
And tell them “that’s life”
While they too, stand on the edge of the knife.
