Written Just For You
I want to script a dream
and cast it
and direct it
and plant it beneath your pillow.
A tulip bulb
that blooms
beneath your hushed soul.
I will write in
soft syllables
that melt like honeycomb
and I will put your name
in bold
every time I write it.
When you wake
you might not remember
each calculated detail I scribed.
You may find yourself swimming
through filmy pools
of fountain ink.
But the world will be coated
in vermillion stars
and tamarind spades.
Your blinds will be penetrable
by the sauntering sun
as it climbs to its peak with leisure,
and I will sing the praises
of a job well done.
