Save Me
If I could go back in time,
Through the tall vibrant grass fields,
Falling on itself from the breeze
Green as the trees,
I would stay for a while.
If I could see all I had lost,
Traversing in the forests tall as skyscrapers,
Thick as cobweb
And intricate as baby fingers
I would breathe.
If I could wander,
Climb the mountains through pools of sweat,
See memories passing as I staggered into the abyss,
And watch as I used to struggle,
I would save me.
Tell me,
Tell the struggler,
The insecure,
The broken and hopeless,
The unforgivable failure and waste,
“Though you are not prepared for life,
Life cannot wait for you.”
You will stretch wings as the eagle does for flight.
For that is inevitable of all mankind.
Live not for the sake of being worthy.
Live not for the expectations of others that seem as tall as cliffs.
But live to learn and learn to live.
