The Drag of a Day
Ding-Ding-Ding, is the same sound I wake up to each day
A good morning to my mother is the first thing I say
Then hopping in the shower as it sprays
Next, I brush my teeth while I pray for a good day
On my way to school I tell myself it will be a good day
At least that’s what I say
Bombarded with homework once again I question how I’ll make it to May
Yet I still pray for a good day
As the drag continues, I wonder will there be a good day
Same thoughts enter, contemplating if I should be a stray
Though I shrug it off, on the same path I stay
Even then, I pray for a good day
Finally, I lay in my bed, the only comfort and solitude of the day
Numbness I feel, my feelings she plays
My dreams I long for, sitting on a bay
Before drowsing off, for tomorrow I pray will be a good day
