Music
Thumping in my ears
Drowning out the rest of the world.
The thumps of the drums matching my heartbeat, the pulse of veins
Those wonderful words filled with feelings.
They match my thoughts, my emotions
They reach into my memories
Pulling at the things we choose to forget.
Reminding us that we aren't perfect, but
That we must be better than we were yesterday.
The music speaks of redemption and freedom.
Music is the true window into my soul.
