You watch the news with anticipation 

You see the chance of cold precipitation 

The temperature is low enough to give a wintery sensation

A snow day would be nice

           but nobody wants to pay the price

Of having to go to school when the weather is nice

You got to sleep the next night 

You wake up looking to your window, there is light

The clock reads 8:30, it turns out you were right. 

You jump back into bed and right under the covers 

this is the same routine as all the others

As you drift back to sleep you can still hear your mom yelling at your brothers
