Sunrise
Now the stars have faded
through the morning chill,
and the sun is climbing like storm
as the water crashes once more on the land.
Tree through tree the forest
takes the golden glow of the blinding sun.
I sit on the dock as the breeze whistles
seeing all the nature has for the world.
Rock by rock the tide
drifts all the pebbles slowly into the the misty blue water,
as if the lake is leaving only but pleasure
for stone skipping all day.
I witness the glory
that day has come once more
earth has not anything to share more special
my fresh eyes are awake now by nature's glow.

This piece is based from a summer vacation my family and I went on to the Finger Lakes in New York. As I woke up early, sitting on the dock, the beautiful sunrise made our vacation memorable.
