Dreams and Fears
Lying Awake I see
A world of stars beckoning to me
I lye in bed so still
My eyes begin to fill
With salty tears that flow
My pillow that they soak
My blanket drowns in tears
As I am swallowed by my fears
They grip my mind so tight
I try to push them out of sight
I can’t, I can’t
I’m a slave to my own thoughts
My own dreams
I am my own enemy

We often become our own worst enemy. We doubt ourselves and give our fears the power over ourselves. I wrote this poem about how I myself am my own worst enemy.
