What is a Monster?

Is it the creature that lays beneath the stairs or lies in shadows? 

Are they the rats that slip through 

cracks?

Are they the eyes you see in the dead of night

 or the screams you hear on cold winded nights?

 Perhaps there the ones with yellow fangs curved 

with wicked claws, 

crusted red-stained hair and lion eyes.

All are frightening, but these don't make a monster. 

REAL 

monsters hide in normal skin.

 They live in homes that smell of spice. 

They don't mind a smile or toothy grin. 

Their hair is clean, smooth, soft or straight. 

Monsters don't hide behind yellow eyes, but instead have GREEN, BLUE, BROWN or HAZEL 

eyes like you or I. 

These are what REAL monsters look like. 

It's never what you see, 

but what you don't see,

 this is how real monsters hide.
